Frequently Asked Questions
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
The Ceremony will be held indoors, in a building called The Foundry. It has an accessible entrance, washrooms and air conditioning. Afterwards, there will be a short, five-minute walk on a paved pedestrian bridge over the Grand River to the reception space in The Granary. Please let us know if you require transportation from the Ceremony to Reception and Elora Mill will be happy to shuttle you.
Is there a dress code?
The dress code for our wedding is “Red Carpet Attire”. This means cocktail or formal attire, but we encourage you to choose something fun! One of Tess’ great joys is fashion, and she can’t wait to see what you all wear.
Here are some guidelines, for those who would like clarification:
Have you been waiting to wear a brightly coloured suit? Here is the occasion!
Sequins, Feathers, Satin, Lurex, Mesh, anything goes!
Any colour, any length
Note: There will be a red carpet.
What is a family-style dinner?
Family Style means that dinner is served on large platters meant for sharing, rather than as individual plates. This allows you to try all the different dinner options and you can serve yourself the portions you desire. Imagine a regal medieval feast, but prepared by expert 21st Century chefs in a top-of-the-line kitchen.
Is there a shuttle?
Yes, we have arranged for a shuttle to pick up guests at The Best Western Fergus and The Village Inn in Elora. Please let us know if you are staying at, or near, either of these locations so we can plan for how many trips are needed.
We will also make sure to get you home at the end of the night! The shuttle will start at 10:00pm and can drop you off at your Hotel, B&B, Airbnb or other rental.
Where are you Registered?
We kindly request no gifts - if you do wish to give something, we invite you to spread the love and donate to either the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society or SickKids Foundation.
